Once we unlock and understand your teenager’s inherent passions, abilities and motivations we can begin using that as a framework around which we can construct a plan for scholastic and career success.

About Test Accommodations and Life Planning - Vocational testing

For many years Patti has helped middle school, high school students and young adults obtain needed testing accommodations for their high school entrance (SSAT, ISEE, HSPT) or college entrance (SAT, ACT) exams. Patti also assists adults in securing accommodations for graduate and professional exams.

These accommodations can include extended time (50% or 100% extra time); small or individual test settings; the use of a reader, computer, or calculator; multiple-day testing; and special test and answer-sheet formats.

We also provide vocational testing that help students decide on their career path.

The four main tests include:

  1. The Wechsler Test, Fourth Edition,
  2. TOVA-8 Itest of Variable of Attention
  3. Strong Interest Inventory
  4. Meyers Briggs Test Inventory (MBTI): which assesses personality type and helps to decide the best vocation for the student.

What symptoms suggest an assessment?

Children and teens may be having difficulties such as:
  • not being able to pay attention in school
  • struggling with family and other close relationships
  • not being able to finish tests in the given time
  • not getting good grades
  • having trouble communicating with family members, teachers, and/or friends
  • not living up to their full potential
Our assessment looks at any or all of these potential concerns and their root causes. Even if your primary aim is securing extended time on standardized testing, your child's evaluation will include information that will help you to better understand and support them in all they do.
